Weather not too bad.  Nicole, Faith and Lucy went out on Star, Billie and Mai.  I rode Smokey in the afternoon.  He's lovely :).

28/02/2014
Sarah and Saffi, the perfect pair :).
After a 3 year break, Saffi has now been ridden for the 3rd time. A very nervous Saffi's fears are melting away as Sarah sits on top oozing confidence and beaming from ear to ear :). They both obviously love each other and it's lovely to see them together.

Bailey walked a few steps with a rider on.  Very happy to do this, which pleased all of us.  Bailey is being brought on at 10 years old and he's accepting everything we do with him.

Lovely day today. Handled lots of ponies with Susie and sewed up Saffi's rug again. All relaxed and calm until a piglet got out and one of the foals started chasing it around the field! Their little legs can really shift! Piglet was glad to get back in the pen with the others again

20/02/2014
Saffi ridden for the first time in 3 years.  Horse and rider really enjoyed it.

17/02/2014
Faith got stuck in the mud :).  I was a lot of help, threw her a stick to lean on then took a video of her getting out, lol.

16/02/2014
Buzby and Saffi stood together looking over the gate like a couple of lovebirds.

15/02/2014
Nice day today.
Faith came up and spent time with Star.  Lovely to see him bonding again, as she knew him before.  Doing some tricks, being led around the field, then ridden.  Both of them really calm and quiet :).
Still taking time with the halter with Misty.  Don't want it to be a bad experience.  She accepts in on her nose and being moved around, so that's good.
Mai and Jinks went out with 2 of the girls.

13/02/2014
A nice day for the time of year.  Had to buy an expensive bale of hay, so it could be delivered while waiting for the alternator belt to be fixed on 4 wheel drive.
Almost got a halter done up on Misty.  Could have persevered, but didn't want to push her.  There's no rush, after all.
Sarah called Saffi and Saffi walked down the field to her, lovely to watch :).

12/02/2014
Poured down all morning and got soaked.  Animals looking fed up as well, even Jett started shivering and he's usually my little radiator!
Alternator belt broke on 4 wheel drive in the evening, while delivering haylage :(.

11/02/2014
4 wheel drive fixed again, hooray! Wasn't much. One bolt had come out from holding the alternator bracket, which caused the other one to break. Very pleased, a cheap repair!

09/02/2014
Car wouldn't start this morning :(.  Had to use little one to go up and feed.
Weather really strange!  Wet and windy this morning, then sunny and later snowing this afternoon!

08/02/2014
Here we go again, wet and windy........  Only fed today, with the help of one of the girls.

07/02/2014
Lovely to see the sun for a few hours today :).

06/02/2014
Spent the morning, in the rain, feeding and cuddling horses, ponies and dogs with Sarah.  They loved it :), Nice to see Misty getting more confident around me.  Her first contact with people was to be branded, ear tagged and have the tip of one ear clipped off!  Not by us, I will add.  Barbaric procedure!  Is it any wonder that she is still a bit nervous?
Then fed (again) and took down electric fencing this afternoon.  Got home very wet, but feeling as if it was a productive day :).

05/02/2014
Very windy day.  Went to get fodder beet for pigs and had to keep holding on to trailer to stop the wind blowing us over, lol.

03/02/2014
Jett had fun giving the girls the run around.  2 video's on Jett's page.

31/01/2014
Had to go and get Molly a new jacket.  She ripped her old one all the way down the back.  As an English Bull Terrier cross Border Collie she shouldn't really need one, but the wide set shoulders of the Bull Terrier has caused early arthritis :(.

30/01/2014
Saffi had a saddle on for the first time in 3 years and was slightly leant over.  Quite happy about both.

29/01/2014
Patrick enjoyed being ridden out again.  Larissa got lost riding him and we had to go and find her, lol.
Buzby and Saffi were taken out for a walk.
Saffi had a bridle on for the first time in 3 years and accepted it easily.

24/01/2014
Bailey was backed and took his first few steps with a rider on.  He was fantastic!  If he carries on this way, Bailey will make a fantastic child's pony.
Patrick was started to be ridden again in the round pen.

Sponsored run for charity.
Got to the fields afterwards to find Bonnie showing all the signs of colic.   Called vet, who said it would take 45 minutes to get to us, but keep her on her feet if she was rolling.  Bonnie had never had a halter on, but while we were waiting we put a halter on and started doing some pressure release work with her.  By the time the vet arrived he was able to handle Bonnie, check her heart and inject her.

At the beginning of November 2012, Jinks went very lame on his right hind leg.  No one could find any heat or reason for this.  The vet checked him thoroughly and gave him a painkiller and anti-biotic, but he didn't come right.  When Jinks had the farrier on 18th December, it was found that Jinks had a piece of gravel in his foot and although there wasn't any sign before, he had puss in his foot when he first went lame.  This has now cleared up and the offending piece of hoof has been trimmed away.  Jinks is now well on the way to recovery.

Popcorn had been finding it very difficult to deal with living in a herd.  Popcorn's illness was psychological as well as physical and he was so stressed that he lost a great deal of weight.  Despite us feeding him 3 times a day and giving him hay and haylage separately from the others, although he ate everything readily, he still did not regain weight.  Unfortunately, on 12th November 2012, we had no alternative but to have him put to sleep.

07/11/2013
Jett celebrated his 2nd birthday.

Leo and Laddie have now begun to be handled and prepared for riding.
Leo is an Exmoor cross gelding, born in 2007, standing at approximately 13.3 hh.
Leo now has a young lady who is helping to break him and bring him on.  I believe that, in time, Leo will easily make a safe, 1st pony, as he has a really laid back attitude and is not spooky.
He is quiet to handle and box, also used to several obstacles that a rider would meet while taking him out.

Laddie is a registered, branded, Exmoor gelding, born in 2008, standing at approximately 13 hh.
He is a super pony, who loves to be handled and we are expecting him to be easy to bring on.
